IF you’ve ever destroyed your favourite item of clothing because you forgot to check the label or didn’t understand what the symbols meant, this hack is for you.
A cleaning whizz shared the clever hack on Instagram and it’s a game changer for your laundry.
The trick was shared on Instagram[/caption] Once you take a picture of the label simply click on the laundry care button[/caption]Brad Canning took to social media and explained that all you need to decode the laundry symbols is your iPhone camera.
“This is going to blow your mind,” he said before demonstrating how it works.
All you need to do is take a close up picture of the clothing label, focusing on the laundry symbols.
Then, when you look at the picture in your camera roll there will be a small washing machine icon on the bottom right of your phone screen.
Simply click on the icon, followed by the ‘look up laundry care’ button.
All the info you need to know about how to wash that practical item of clothing will then be explained.
For Brad’s top, it told him not to bleach it or dry clean, and that it can be ironed at a maximum of 110C.
Fellow cleaning fans loved the trick, especailly for teaching their kids how to wash their own clothes properly.
One wrote: “My son needs to know this, thank you!”
A second commented: “How did I not know this existed?!”
And it turns out it’s not just laundry the phone trick can help you with.
You can also you the clever visual look up feature to identify different plants and loads of other stuff.
Apple’s website explains: “With Visual Look Up, you can identify and learn about popular landmarks, plants, pets, and more that appear in your photos and videos in the Photos app .
“Visual Look Up can also identify food in a photo and suggest related recipes.”
However, not everyone was impressed by Brad’s savvy cleaning hack.
Some people slammed him for not knowing what the cleaning symbols meant already.
“It’s primary school knowledge bro,” one said.
“How did you get this far in life without knowing this,” another wrote.”
“Google Lens has been doing this for years,” someone else quipped.
