A FASHION has been left feeling disappointed after trying out the Skims viral dress.
While this slinky number has taken the internet by storm, it left her feeling deflated.
At &80 she was expecting a lot more than what she actually got.
She was shocked when she saw how see-through it was, and low-key felt exposed.
Petra Macias Medrano (@pmacias21), who has 35,000 followers, shares her love for midsize fashion on her TikTok.
But there was not a lot of love on show for her Skims lounge dress.
“Skims slip dress fail,” she said in her post. “No wonder everyone keeps getting the darker colors.”
Petra had tried on a lighter-shade in camel, but she discovered it left little to the imagination.
“This is the viral Skims dress for $80. I was really not expecting it to be so see-through.”
It accentuated every part of her body, including parts she would rather it didn’t.
“You can see my bra color. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t know how this is flattering on anyone,” she said.
But it was not a hit as far as she was concerned: “I feel exposed like this, low-key. This is not okay.”
She couldn’t understand its popularity after her experience.
She was prepared to give Skims the benefit of the doubt, however, and reached for another shade.
“Tried on a darker color. I think I like it a lot more,” she wrote.
“I think that’s why people are only getting the dark colors.”
One commenter gave her an honest, but harsh, appraisal: “It looks terrible. I can see your private parts in front. It looks really bad [but] not trying to hurt your feelings.”
Others tried to explain why she got the result she did: “That’s the soft lounge, not the fits everybody. I got fits everybody today and it’s legit, so slay. I promise worth the hype.”
Some tried to reassure her: “It looks so good on you girl.”
It was a similar response from this fan: “You have a beautiful body. I love the dark color on you.”
