DAISY Midgeley and Ryan Connor continue to keep their illicit romance a secret – but Daniel Osbourne catches on this week.
Meanwhile, another Coronation Street family is set to be ripped apart as one fan favourite could be dragged to prison. Get the lowdown.
Crystal drops a bombshell on Daniel and Daisy[/caption] Gemma tries to take action to save Bernie – but will her efforts be in vain?[/caption]Paul Foreman’s days in the cobbles are numbered after he was given a devastating prognosis in recent scenes of the ITV soap.
The beloved builder portrayed by Peter Ash learned that he only had six to twelve months left to live as his motor neurone disease (MND) continued to take over.
This means that Paul will be celebrating one last Christmas this December before drawing his last breath.
Unable to work due to his loss of mobility, Paul has been tying up all the loose ends he can before it’s too late and even walked down the aisle with his partner Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
With his time in Weatherfield drawing to a close, both Paul and Billy have been keen to get their Christmas celebrations ready.
Unfortunately, Paul’s scheming mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) threw a spanner in the works when she got arrested for handling stolen goods.
As soap fans will recall, Bernie was desperate to help her son financially after finding out he’d have to wait before cashing in his first PIP payment.
Coming up, the family are devastated when Paul’s mother Bernie is sentenced to three months behind bars.
There’s no way out for Bernie either as she’s told that she has to serve at least half of her sentence meaning that she will, most definitely, miss out on Paul’s last ever Christmas.
Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) later lures Big Garth to Victoria Street – what does she have planned for him?
Could she make sure he also gets some of the blame?
This remains to be seen but, while the Winter-Browns get ready to wave a temporary goodbye to Bernie, viewers know she could have another trick up her sleeve.
Many viewers of the Manchester-based program have speculated that Bernie may do a runner, escaping the cobbles before she can be taken to prison.
This would, in turn, allow her to spend a limited amount of time with her dying son.
But will she really go through with it?
Will Bernie and Paul get some last moments together?
Could Daniel’s villainous streak make a return?[/caption]Daisy and Ryan (respectively portrayed by Charlotte Jordan and Ryan Prescott) grew closer after they were caught together in the Rovers by Justin Rutherford who had planned to throw acid in the barmaid’s face.
Since then, Ryan and Daisy have been gravitating towards and away from each other, unable to deny how strong their attraction is and they even wound up in bed together.
While Ryan is a free agent, Daisy is supposedly committed to her fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
To make matters even more complex, when Crystal Hyde (Erin Austen) showed up in the cobbles again after several months of absence, Ryan was given a way out of his confusing situation with Daisy.
The hunk’s life is slowly being pieced back together and, in upcoming scenes, he even tells Crystal he’s received a new job opportunity.
Crystal covers and makes out she’s thrilled for him but she later approaches Daisy and Daniel.
After telling them about Ryan’s new job, Crystal reveals that she’s moving to Glasgow and she was hoping he might go with her.
Crystal insists she values the couple’s opinion – but how will Daisy react to the news?
Later on, Ryan tells Crystal that he is still going for the interview at the gym as he wants to keep his options open.
When Ryan blanks Daisy as she comes into the café, Crystal confronts Daisy asking if there is something going on between them.
Daisy denies but calls round to tell Ryan that Crystal is suspicious.
Unaware that his camera is still on from his interview video practice Ryan admits that he still has feelings for her and the sex was fantastic.
When Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) returns home himself, Daisy makes a sharp exit.
With Ryan gone to work, Simon is intrigued when he spots the camera.
In later scenes, Daniel receives a message from Simon with a video link.
Daniel watches the video of Ryan and Daisy – heartbroken, he quickly comes to the realisation they have slept together behind his back.
The Weatherfield teacher then tells Simon that he knows Daisy loves him and has chosen him so he’s decided to move on and forget about it.
But he’s just as devastated when Ryan reveals that he has got the gym job and won’t be moving to Glasgow.
Leaving the Bistro, he heads for the Street Cars flat and lets himself in using Simon’s keys.
Daniel is known to spiral out of control when left in a dark place and has hurt other Weatherfield residents in the past – which include an underage teen as well as his own father Ken Barlow.
This could imply he may try to go above and beyond if it means he can get revenge on Ryan.
Could he physically hurt the hunk?
Could their new feud rock the cobbles and end in death?
Everything you need to know about Coronation Street
While Daniel’s choice of action remains to be seen, Daisy could face a difficult decision of her own.
As mentioned above, despite being in a relationship with Daniel, Daisy is well aware she also harbours feelings for Ryan.
And with Crystal in the picture, her well-known jealousy could make her act out against her in an attempt to get Ryan.
To make matters worse, Ryan could consider leaving Weatherfield altogether as Crystal tries to get him to follow her.
Could this prompt Daisy to leave Daniel in the dust and rush to Ryan?
Will she commit to Ryan and leave Daniel heartbroken?
Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
