Art exhibition at the Pierides Museum merges with collection
A new solo exhibition by Andreas Stylianou will open in Larnaca soon, presented by the Pierides Museum – Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and Future DMND fine art platform in Los Angeles. Titled ‘Holomorphosis’, the exhibition, curated by Katerina Patsalidou, will be on at the Pierides Museum from December 14 until February 14. Opening the exhibition next month will be the Deputy Minister of Culture Dr Vasiliki Kassianidou.
The exhibition comprises Stylianou’s response to the museum’s treasured permanent collection. ‘Holomorphosis’, meaning the continuation and completion of the existing, emerges as an immersive and stimulating extrapolation of the historical narrative. By melding contemporary artistic visions with the museum’s esteemed historical collection, the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to engage with both the ancestral and the new.
The showcase will extend throughout seven spaces of the museum, featuring artworks created by Stylianou in 2022 and 2023. The selection includes an intriguing amalgamation of artistic mediums, including luminous neon installations, intricate ceramics, evocative bronze and stainless-steel sculptures, ethereal stained-glass compositions and paintings.
The artist’s work financially supports the Miracle Babies Association which supports premature newborns and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Makarios Hospital. In this exhibition, a work worth €2,000 will be exhibited, which Stylianou will donate to the association to be raffled off at a separate ceremony.
