You’ve been using Christmas gift bags all wrong – a clever hack you should be trying instead
CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, which means we will soon all have a mountain of gifts to wrap up and pile under the Christmas tree.
Wrapping each individual gift with wrapping paper can be time consuming, so using gift bags is a great time-saving alternative.
However, they don’t do a great job of concealing what’s inside them.
That said, a mum has shared a genius hack for fastening gift bags, and people are realising they’ve been using them wrong all their lives.
A mum, who is known as @majormumhacks on social media, shared the clever trick on her TikTok channel, which she uses to share budget friendly cooking and craft tips.
Opening the video, the mum said “stop doing this”, before filming herself pushing the sides of a gift bag together and then sellotaping it together.
“Do this instead”, the mum continued before demonstrating her clever trick.
Taking the ends of the gift bag ribbons, she slotted them into the holes on the opposite side of the bag and then tied them together.
She then pulled the ribbons together and showed off her beautifully neat gift bag.
In the caption for the video, the mum said: “This method saves your Sellotape and means others can reuse the bag over and over again.”

The mum’s video has garnered over 600,000 views, and TikTok users have been praising her for the clever hack.
