A motorcyclist who was killed last week in a crash near San Martin has been identified as Ramesh Babu Krishna Sastry, a 68-year-old Los Gatos resident.
The collision of the motorcycle and a car was reported at 2:46 p.m. on Nov. 22 at the intersection of Uvas and Watsonville roads, the California Highway Patrol said.
A witness said the motorcycle failed to stop at the stop sign before beginning a left turn onto northbound Watsonville Road, and it was struck by a southbound Toyota Camry, the CHP said. Sastry and his passenger, a 60-year-old Los Gatos woman, were thrown from the motorcycle.
Sastry died at the scene, and the woman suffered major injuries and was taken to a San Jose hospital. The Camry’s only occupant, a 41-year-old Prunedale man, was not injured, the CHP said.
