Dion Dublin has lavished praise on Son Heung-min, insisting that the forward would start for every team in the Premier League.
Son had a campaign to forget last term but he has had a new lease of life since being handed the captain’s armband this summer, stepping up to fill the leadership and the goalscoring void left by Harry Kane’s departure.
The 31-year-old has found the back of the net eight times in 13 Premier League matches so far this season (Transfermarkt) and he was extremely unlucky not to add to his tally on Sunday against Aston Villa.
Son had three goals ruled out for offside, with two of those being quite marginal calls. The South Korean refuted that it was down to bad luck, insisting that he has to get better at beating the offside trap (Sports Chosun).
Even though the Tottenham captain endured a frustrating afternoon on Sunday, Dublin was quite complimentary of his movement and finishing.
The former Villa striker told Optus Sport: “He makes great runs, Son. He does everything he possibly can to make sure he hits the target – chooses the right finish at the right time. He could play for any of the teams in the top three or four, start. Quite easily.”
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that Man City will be fearful of Son, given his record against them. The forward will get plenty of joy, given the high line that Pep Guardiola’s men play and Spurs need him to deliver to have any chance of coming away with a result from the Etihad.
