Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange has begun working on identifying centre-back and striker targets ahead of January, according to The Daily Mail.
The report states that Lange, who joined Spurs from Aston Villa last month, is wasting no time and has already started ‘piecing together his blueprint’ for the upcoming transfer window as the Lilywhites look to strengthen their squad in January.
It is explained that the Dane spent the last week ‘locked in recruitment planning meetings’, with Tottenham now formulating a plan of action for January.
The outlet claims that Ange Postecoglou’s men are prioritising signing a central defender and a striker in the next two transfer windows. It is alleged that Lange’s talks over the last few days have revolved around the potential targets and the designated budgets for those positions.
This report contradicts what was said by Football Insider a couple of weeks ago, with the publication claiming that Spurs wish to sign a centre-back and a central midfielder in January.

While it is obvious that we need to bring in a centre-back, I highly doubt if the club will be prioritising signing a number nine in January. I suspect Lange is looking for a versatile forward, who can operate in either flank, rather than a central striker.
