Netflix has dropped the nine episodes of "Squid Game: The Challenge."
The new reality competition series, which is based on the hit Korean drama, follows 456 contestants as they compete in real-life "Squid Game"-inspired challenges in order to win $4.56 million.
The season is being released in three batches. Here is when the finale will be available on Netflix.
"Squid Game: The Challenge" is being released across three weeks on Netflix.
Batch one, which premiered on Netflix on November 22, consists of five episodes:
Episode 1: "Red Light, Green Light"
Episode 2: "The Man with the Umbrella"
Episode 3: "War"
Episode 4: "Nowhere to Hide"
Episode 5: "Trick or Treat"
Batch two, which premiered on November 29, consists of four episodes:
Episode 6: "Goodbye"
Episode 7: "Friend And Foe"
Episode 8: "One Step Closer"
Episode 9: "Circle of Trust"
The season finale premieres on December 6.
The first nine episodes mostly follow the structure of the original "Squid Game," starting with "Red Light, Green Light" and "Dalgona."
However, there are some twists, including tests that weed out contestants outside of challenges. The tests include contestants voting each other out, and a jack-in-the-box that can either eliminate a player or give them an advantage.
The show also features some challenges not seen in the "Squid Game" drama, like "Warships" in episode three, and "Circle of Truth" in episode nine.
By the end of episode nine, there are only three contestants left: player, 287 Mai; player 451, Phill; and player 016, Sam.
At the end of the episode, there is also a small teaser for the finale that implies there are two more challenges to come. The final challenge is likely to be the titular "Squid Game."
