Suzy revealed why traveller communities use plastic on furniture[/caption] Many country folk have asked her why they do it[/caption]Suzy had recently had her home redecorated and showed it off in a clip – where viewers spotted there was plastic wrap on her new tables and even chairs.
One asked: “What’s about the plastic? Things are to use.”
But Suzy explained it was common practice in her community to wrap furniture in plastic.
She explained: “Okay, so let’s talk about the plastic on the furniture.
“Um, I don’t know anybody, really, that doesn’t put plastic on the furniture.
“Tables, chairs, sofas. I have known people to plastic rugs.”
The mum of one revealed that she likes to plastic wrap her furniture to keep it protected form chips or stains – not so people can’t use them.
“First off, is to ensure it doesn’t get chips, or marked up,” she added.
“Stops it from getting stained, basically stops it from getting damaged.
“It’s not cheap to replace, do you know what I mean?”
Suzy went for a cream colour in her front room and didn’t want any of her sofas getting dirty or have to replace them quickly.
She explained: “I look after everything that I have, especially when it comes to furniture and stuff.
“So, I haven’t got the money to keep running out and buy a new furniture every time it gets chipped or broken or stained.”
Suzy said she would show users exactly how she plastic wraps – which after a bit of practice is barely noticeable.
“It’s basically to just look after our furniture because we love our homes and we don’t want nothing to get damaged,” Suzy continued.
“But just cause it’s got plastic on it, doesn’t mean it’s not gonna get used.”
The clip posted to her TikTok account @cuzinsuzy92 has since gone viral with over 48k views and 2,700 likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments.
One person wrote: “I think using plastic is literally genius.”
Another commented: “I think you have a lovely home very clean I think its a good idea when you got kids.”
“Sensible thinking.. and a good idea,” penned a third.
Someone else added: “If I could I would do it.. saves it from feral kids lol.”
