THEY say blood is thicker than water… but we all know being part of any family comes with its fair share of drama.
This is especially true if you grew up with siblings and it can be even more difficult growing up in the public eye.
Which is why fans were delighted recently, when it emerged estranged siblings Jamie Lynn Spears and Britney had appeared to make amends after a years-long bitter feud.
When asked about the situation with her superstar sis on I’m A Celebrity, Jamie Lynn replied: “I think every family fights and has their stuff but I talked to her before I came here and we love each other.”
Here we take a closer look at the women’s complex family history, and some of the very dramatic bitter sibling spats celebs have been embroiled in over the years…
Britney and her sister survived a tough childhood together, but as adults, their bond has come under repeated strain.
The actress, 32, and Britney, 41, appeared close until 2018 when Jamie Lynn reportedly became a partial trustee of Britney’s estate.
It meant Jamie Lynn would have a degree of control over the singer’s assets, after the 2008 conservatorship which took away the singer’s control over her own life and finances.
Things escalated as tensions arose on social media, with Britney publicly criticising her sister’s decision to perform her hits at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, saying: “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!!
“My so-called support system hurt me deeply!!!!”
By January 2022, Britney had unfollowed her sister on social media and the younger sibling spoke out about their “confusing” relationship.
Britney then accused her of attempting to use their relationship to sell her autobiography, and claimed her little sister “never had to work for anything” and that “everything was always given to her.”
Recently the pair appear to have made up ground towards reconciliation, with Britney writing in her biography The Woman In Me: “My heart goes out to her for all those reasons.
“She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I wish the absolute best for them.”
Kim, 43, and Kourtney Kardashian, 44, have had their fair share of on-camera disagreements over the years, dating all the way back to 2007.
However it was season 15 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2018 that kicked off with one of Kim and Kourtney’s most infamous feuds to date.
Kim was trying to plan a day for them to have a photo shoot for the family Christmas card.
However, she was having difficulty adhering to Kourtney’s requests, and the disagreement quickly got heated, with Kim repeatedly telling her older sister to “get the f*** out of here and go!’
“No one wants you in the f***ing shoot, I’m planning it. I’m planning the shoot. So we don’t want you in the shoot.”
After Kourtney left, Kim famously referred to her as “the least exciting to look at.”
She continued: “She doesn’t do s***, she doesn’t know what it’s like to actually have f***ing work to do.”
Then, during season 17 the following year Kim accused Kourtney of copying her fashion sense, saying she kept “picking out all the same clothes.”
Kourtney responded: “Yeah, I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’ve never dressed like you.”
Then, in 2022, Kourtney partnered with designer Dolce & Gabbana for her lavish Italian wedding to Travis Barker.
Soon after, Kim began a partnership of her own with the brand – and Kourtney wasn’t too happy about it.
Aimee, 40, is Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne‘s eldest child, but lesser known as she opted not to star on The Osbournes’ reality show with Kelly and her brother Jack.
She moved out of the family’s house at 16 and stayed largely out of the spotlight ever since – consequently living a very different life to that of her younger sibling.
In 2021, Kelly, 39, revealed she was estranged from her older sister Aimee because they don’t “understand” each other.
The TV personality also admitted she “doesn’t talk” to Aimee and said they’re “really different”.
Aimee also discussed her strained relationship with Kelly in 2015, telling The Independent: “I wouldn’t say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance.
“Do we socialize? No.”
Beyoncé, 42, and her younger sister Solange, 37, have been nothing but supportive of each other’s phenomenally successful careers – but even they aren’t immune to becoming embroiled in family drama from time to time.
In 2014 a shocking CCTV video showing Solange launching herself at Beyoncé’s husband Jay Z in a lift as Beyonce looked on.
The event was likely to have caused some tension, and the trio later released a joint statement addressing the drama, saying: “There has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.
“But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.
“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred.
“They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public.
“They both have apologised to each other, and we have moved forward as a united family.”
The younger siblings in the Kardashian clan Kendall and Kylie Jenner have also seen their sibling rivalry played out on their reality TV series.
In 2020, tensions between the sisters peaked, as they got into a physical fight during a night out.
Kendall was shown recounting the fight for her family, telling Kris Jenner and other members of the family: “She, like, smacked me or something.
“I came back at her and smacked her in the face, and then she took her heel and put it into my neck.”
The fight took place during a trip to Palm Springs after Kylie took the outfit that Kendall was planning to wear.
They spent weeks not speaking to one another, which also played out on KUWTK.
In a show trailer Kendall revealed at the time: “I haven’t heard from her, not even a little bit, which is rare.”
They finally reconnected via Instagram, with Kylie posting a photo of her and her sister, which prompted Kendall to comment, “Aren’t we fighting?”
Her younger sister responded, “Yes but my titties are sitting nice in this pic.”
