Paul Scholes tells Bruno Fernandes to ‘take responsibility’ for Man Utd draw with Galatasaray after TNT Sports interview
PAUL SCHOLES told Bruno Fernandes to “‘take responsibility”‘ for Manchester United’s draw with Galatasaray.
United twice went ahead in Turkey but were pegged back on both occasions to draw 3-3 in what ended a six-goal thriller.
Ex-Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech scored from two free-kicks – one of which was given away by Fernandes.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana came into question for Ziyech’s goals and Fernandes admitted to mistakes in his post-match interview.
He told TNT Sports: “It was another game where we could have closed the game.
“We had too many chances, as I’ve said, and mistakes by ourselves.It’s too bad, to be honest.
“I don’t want to be too negative, but what we’ve been doing in the Champions League is not enough.
“We have to control our games every time, it’s not the first game we’ve had like this.”
United legend Scholes took a different view and urged captain Fernandes to own up to his own errors.
He said in studio: “I know in his interview he is talking about mistakes, but he made two big mistakes tonight by giving two stupid fouls away that lead to two goals.
“The full team, including himself as the captain, have to take responsibility – it’s a game they should win.

“They just can not keep clean sheets – the defence is all over the place, the keeper is making mistakes, Bruno giving away cheap free-kicks.
“It makes the game difficult for them every time and they don’t need to do that.”
United have been left bottom of their group and need a win at home to Bayern and Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw in order to progress.
