Techman Robot Inc. today displayed the TM AI Cobot TM25S at the International Robot Exhibition, or iREX 2023. The latest collaborative robot arm from the Taoyuan, Taiwan-based company includes advanced features and a 25 kg (55.1 lb.) capacity.
At iREX in Tokyo this week, Techman Robot is demonstrating the addition to its TM Robot family and the TM AI Cobot S Series across industrial applications. The new cobot has a 1,902 mm (74.8 in.) reach and is designed for pick-and-place tasks, machine tending, high-volume packaging, and other applications.
The TM AI Cobot TM25S also includes “built-in smart vision” with a 3D camera, making it suitable for tasks that demand precision, such as artificial intelligence-driven mixed-case palletizing, Techman said. This capability can provide efficiency and adaptability when handling packages of varied sizes and orientations, the company asserted.
At Metalex last week in Bangkok, Techman unveiled the TM25S for welding applications.
“Thanks to increased motor speed, [the] TM AI cobot [can] achieve a remarkable 25% reduction in cycle time, ensuring quicker task completion,” it stated. “Furthermore, in specific configurations, they exhibit a remarkable 70% improvement in repeatability, with precision reaching an astonishing 0.03 mm.”
Techman’s new cobot joins a trend toward larger systems, including those of FANUC, Yaskawa, and most recently Universal Robots.
Techman Robot noted that the TM25S cobot is integrated with NVIDIA‘s Isaac Sim platform, enabling the creation of digital twins and cloud-based training that could improve the operational efficiency of production-line inspections.
In May, NVIDIA and Techman announced their collaboration for automated optical inspection (AOI) using NVIDIA’s Metropolis vision AI and Isaac Sim, which is built on the Omniverse development platform. In June, the companies said Techman’s AOI system includes cameras directly mounted on its robot arms and GPUs incorporated into robot controllers.
The combination of movable cameras and AI allows for multi-angle detection of areas beyond the reach of stationary cameras, said the companies. They added that digital twins “can optimize design structures, test work tasks and environmental conditions, [and] simulate work performance and processes.”
“This innovative approach is anticipated to slash programming times by up to 70% and cycle times by 20%, marking a significant leap in operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness,” claimed Techman.

In addition to the TM25S and Isaac Sim, Techman Robot will exhibit other collaborations featuring its cobots at iREX. It plans to show the TM12M with ciRobotics’ autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) demonstrating fast integration and flexible hand-eye configurations.
Techman said the cobot-AMR combination is suitable for high-precision industries such as semiconductor manufacturing and electronics. It is exhibiting at Booth ES-19 at iREX.
The company is also presenting an “adaptable, user-friendly” welding robot with Panasonic. Techman asserted that the system “aims to simplify welding tasks, allowing for quick setup and operation while catering to diverse workpiece shapes and sizes.”
Founded in 2015, Techman Robot said it is the only collaborative robot manufacturer based in Taiwan. It said it has become “the world’s second-largest collaborative robot brand,” with more than 100 distributors in China, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
