SAVVY shoppers have been rushing to buy a returning Christmas essential for kids that “will last for years” – and it only costs £2.
The popular Christmas Eve boxes from Asda have sent shoppers wild on social media with people calling them “amazing”.
We are only a few weeks away from the festive month and many are already filling up their Christmas charts.
And with the cost of living crisis looming upon us, Brits are on the lookout for cheap gift boxes and hampers.
But if buying one can leave you out of pocket – with a gift box selling for £100 from John Lewis or £85 at Fortnum and Mason.
Luckily, Asda has brought back its bargain Christmas Eve box this year,
Money-savers took to the Facebook Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group to confirm the good news.
One user said: “Asda are doing the £2 one again this year got one yesterday.”
Another added: “Yes my store had a big pallet load of two different designs right by the entrance doors just inside the store.”
Each box costs only £2 and is designed so that parents don’t have to splash out cash on pre-made ones.
Shoppers have praised the boxes and said they can last for years.
Someone said: “These are great value I’ve had mine for over 10 years.”
There are two versions of the boxes available and you can snap up yours both in store or online.
One is a colourful Christmassy scene with festive characters that says “holly jolly Christmas” on the side.
The other is looks like a package from the North Pole and has “love from Santa’s Elves x” on the top and “special delivery on the side”.
This year, the superstore giant has also introduced Disney-inspired ones for the little ones.
The boxes are 12.7cm x 36.2cm x 27cm so people can fit a considerable amount of goodies in them.
The hamper of treats is usually filled with pyjamas, toys, trinkets, books, chocolates, booze and other goodies.
Savvy Christmas enthusiasts can also snap up Cadbury selection boxes for cheap.
The cheap festive chocolate has been spotted in Home Bargains reduced to just 99p.
For those on the lookout of cheap gifts, Lush has dropped brand new sets in its iconic Snow Fairy scent – and each one will give you change from a £20 note.
As part of this year’s yuletide offering, the bath and body retailer has dropped a £10 Sweet Christmas box that comes with a bubble bar and bath bomb.
Meanwhile, Asda has been crowned better than M&S for Christmas dinner beating other bargain supermarkets.
It topped the charts ahead of all the others though in five categories: starters, dessert, Christmas pudding, champagne and festive liqueurs.
It also came runner-up for a further two Christmas dinner essentials – pigs in blankets and mince pies.
