At the 2023 Ottawa Jazz Festival concert featuring the all-female Canadian supergroup called the Ostara Project, it was impossible to miss vocalist-keyboardist Laila Biali's contributions. Her irrepressible presence practically took the roof off the Fourth Stage, the National Arts Centre's most intimate concert setting. It was only due to the band's democratic mandate that Biali, now and then, had to hide her light under the proverbial bushel.
