Katie Holmes is embracing fall with her signature nonchalance — and a surprise shoe choice.
While out in New York City on Monday, Holmes strolled with a Perrier-Jouët champagne delivery in a set of Nomasei’s Aria boots. The French label’s $595 style featured smooth, dusky cream leather uppers with stretchy ankle shafts, capped toes and 2.36-inch block heels. Back zippers finished Holmes’ pair with a minimalist edge, while memory foam padding ensured the style remained comfortable and easy to wear.
The unexpected shoe added a chic base to Holmes’ attire for the occasion, which featured a light pistachio green knit sweater atop pale green pants. The actress’ two-toned look was layered beneath a sharply lapeled black leather coat for added ’90s flair, while her versatile accessories — gold huggie earrings, a black leather shoulder bag, brown-framed aviator sunglasses and a white beanie — provided a cozy finish against the Manhattan chill.
Holmes’ Nomasei boots were particularly surprising from their silhouette and color. Traditionally, similar booties are popularly seen in darker tones like brown, black and beige during the winter months.
By opting for an off-white pair, Holmes made the case for the shoe’s neutral color range to expand with lighter iterations. Aside from embracing the versatility of lighter colors, the “Dawson’s Creek” star’s styling with similarly pale hues also proved it can easily streamline complementary outfits, as well.
Holmes is best known for her classic “everywoman” style, often re-wearing beloved pieces year-round. On the footwear front, the “All We Had” director keeps her selections classic with Veja and Adidas sneakers, Gucci loafers and Bottega Veneta mules. Beyond her sharp off-duty shoes, Holmes’ ties to the fashion industry have also earned her an Olay brand ambassador title, as well as starring in campaigns for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Miu Miu and Ann Taylor. Additionally, Holmes was the co-founder of the fashion line Holmes & Yang, launched with her then-stylist Jeanne Yang, from 2011 to 2014.
