In an unprecedented event, the West Bengal Assembly saw a sit-in protest by both the ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition BJP MLAs. The Leader of Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of corruption, leading to a tense atmosphere.
