It is that time of year again and before sending last-minute Christmas cards or invites for your New Year’s Eve party you had better check the Post Office is open before braving the cold.
If you need to post something out to a relative or a friend last minute, or maybe you missed a Christmas delivery and need to pick up a parcel, it could mean a trip to the Post Office.
Before heading off though it will be worth checking if your local branch is open before it becomes a wasted trip.
Opening times can vary from branch to branch, so it is recommended that you find your local opening hours by using the Branch Finder tool.

The Post Office has a network of 11,500 branches across the UK, but out of those 115 of them are determined as ‘Crown’ Post Offices.
These are branches still run by the Post Office, typically in city centre locations.
A Post Office spokesperson said: ‘Our Postmasters know just how much local residents and businesses rely on Post Office services in the run-up to Christmas.
‘We typically have around 4,000 branches operated by independent Postmasters or our retail partners open at weekends and we would expect these branches to be open as usual on the weekends over the festive break
‘Our advice is to check a branch’s local Facebook page for information about openings over Christmas or visit postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder.
‘We have thousands of branches typically located inside convenience stores and we would expect many of these to remain open throughout the festive period, some will even be open on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.’
