I’M A Celebrity fans have claimed that ITV ‘stepped in to separate Nella and Nigel’ after their racism row.
At the end of last night’s episode, Ant and Dec told viewers that the influencer was forced to leave camp to see the medic, and so she was exempt from doing the next trial.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced that Nigel Farage and Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard will take part in Trial In Too Deep.
But viewers of the long-running ITV show were left fuming, as they seemingly wanted to see the broadcaster and Nella Rose do a trial together.
In a bizarre conspiracy, they even claimed that producers purposely ‘decided’ she was to be taken ill so she was separated from the former UKIP politician.
One I’m A Celeb fan claimed: “I’m going to go on a whim here and say they knew it would be Nigel and Nella & know they aren’t getting along that’s why Nella had to “see a medic” #ImACeleb”
Another stated: “ITV producers have decided that Nella is sick and Nigel should take her place #ImACeleb”
“How convenient that Nella gets exempt when Nigel is doing a trial? They knew that it would’ve been Nigel and Nella doing it together and they deliberately robbed us from it!”, noted a third.
As a fourth viewer said: “That trial deffo would’ve been Nella and Nigel… ITV: But oh no.. we can’t have Nella voted again can we .”
A fifth user exclaimed: “WE ALMOST HAD A NIGEL AND NELLA DUO TRIAL This is fixed!”
And a sixth even asked: “So did Nella pull a sickie to avoid a trial or did the producers rig it so Nigel could get some airtime and Nella got a break?,” alongside their own poll.
In the mini questionnaire set out by the viewer, 72 per cent of those that answered thought that “Nella pulled a sickie.”
27 per cent of fans that saw the poll thought that the “producers” have rigged it.
The news came after the pair clashed again in camp after the stars mimicked a Jamaican accent.
American actress Jamie Lynn Spears wanted to know why her campmates were saying “water” with a Patois twang, and pronouncing it “wasa”.
At first Nella, 26, held her tongue when Nigel waded in, and said that he didn’t believe cultural appropriation was wrong.
He claimed: “They criticise, when suits. If a white person does a black accent, it’s a crime.”
“What do you mean, Nigel?” Nella said.
He continued: “You know, when someone goes to a fancy dress party … it’s cultural appropriation.”
And Nella responded: “Like what, if you was to do black face, then it is wrong.”
Nigel said he was referring to a person “dressing up as a Mexican”.
To which Nella hit back: “You can’t use someone’s culture as a fancy dress, the Mexican outfit is tradition to them.
“That’s why in America they don’t dress up as native Americans because it’s not a joke.”
Nella was still fuming later on and she told the Bush Telegraph: “Nigel’s just going to be Nigel at the end of the day, I’m not going to listen to any of his opinions about race.”
“It’s the delusion that confuses me. It’s the ignorance of like, not caring about other cultures.
“When Nigel was speaking I was just so disappointed in him because we were getting on so well.”
