Luxmy has served as a stand in host before, but doesn’t appear on the show that regularly compared to some of the other guest presenters.
Her appearance left fans swooning over her as she looked beautiful in a navy blue silk dress which featured a wrap over neckline and a pleated skirt.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one BBC Breakfast viewer wrote: “Cold out! Here in #UK we have #BBCBreakfast with gorgeous LuxmyGopal to warm the cockles.”
Another added: “After a long, cold night shift, fantastic to get home to a warm house and the lovely smile of @luxmy_g on @BBCBreakfast. Here all week Luxmy?”
A third tweeted: “Well what a great way to start Wednesday to see @luxmy_g presenting on @BBCBreakfast.”
Luxmy is also a presenter on BBC London News and BBC News.
There was no explanation for why Sally was off today, but the star could be busy rehearsing for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
Sally was one of the six names announced last week, and on Monday, she gave Jon an update on how training is going with pro partner, Graziano Di Prima.
She said: “It’s hard! I’m really not a dancer so to learn a dance in quite a short space of time is tough.”
Jon then suggested the Strictly process was “full on” and Sally replied with a whisper: “Yes….I’m not very good.”
As she laughed she repeated: “I’m really not very good!”
Jon said he’d seen some training footage and she looked “very good” but shaking her head, Sally countered: “I look like a very tense newsreader, that’s what I look like!”
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
