CHANNEL 4’s probe into Russell Brand is weeks from completion, its chief exec told MPs yesterday.
Alex Mahon said it is looking at around 60,000 documents after its former presenter, 48, was accused of sex offences.
Interviews are also ongoing, she said, adding: “We’re not quite finished.
“We’re probably in the process of weeks.”
The comic denies rape, assault and emotional abuse from 2006 to 2013 after a joint investigation involving C4’s Dispatches.
Ms Mahon said she was “certainly very proud of that programme because we had investigative journalists working on it for three to four years”.
She added that “it may historically implicate Channel 4 programmes”.
But Ms Mahon also said: “That’s why I’m particularly glad that we did that programme and called it to account.”
She told the Culture, Media and Sport Committee she will be “very happy” to take questions on its probe’s findings.
