Coronation Street finally reveals fate of ‘missing’ character after they disappeared six months ago
CORONATION Street has given an update on a missing character who hasn’t been seen on the cobbles for six months.
Nurse Aggie Bailey – who is played by actress Lorna Laidlaw in the ITV soap – hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield since early June.
At the time she was hosting a dinner party in the Metcalfe’s house trying to pass it off as her own after running into an old friend from when she had money.
Since then Aggie’s disappearance has only been briefly mentioned with her family saying she was caring for a distant relation.
However in tonight’s episode viewers got an update – but it’s not good news.
The soap has confirmed that Aggie will not be returning to the cobbles any time soon.
Michael could be seen moaning to his dad about his mum’s absence.
He said: “I can’t believe mum won’t be back for Christmas.
“I know she’s doing a brilliant job looking after auntie Em but come on, it’s not going to be the same waking up Christmas morning with mum not here.
“For Glory. Christmas dinner without mum, she always makes a big effort.”
Ed told him to stop being a baby and added: “Your mum would love to be here but she’s needed somewhere else.”
But with the news that Aggie will not be returning until at least next year, fans are disappointed.
One wrote: “I hope Lorna Laidlaw is alright.”
A second said: “Seriously., will Lorna Laidlaw return as Aggie, or will she slowly be replaced or written out?”
Another added: “If Aggie doesn’t return for the new year, I actually might cry. Her and DeeDee carry that family, and they’re not giving DeeDee an easy job.
