Former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster has predicted the result of the Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa clash and feels that there is ‘a draw written’ all over it.
The 40-year-old English goalkeeper had an illustrious career, representing a number of clubs including the likes of Stoke City, Manchester United, West Brom and Watford.
Spurs come into this game sitting fourth in the Premier League table two points off the top. Successive defeats against Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers have disrupted their momentum and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways.
Villa on the other hand sit fifth, one point behind Tottenham. Unai Emery has done an impressive job but they were beaten 2-0 by Nottingham Forest in their last Premier League away match.
Tottenham are missing out on a number of players through injuries. Micky van de Ven and James Maddison are both set to be out for a significant period following the injuries they sustained against the Blues. Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon are long-term absentees.
Cristian Romero is still serving his three-match suspension for his tackle on Enzo Fernandez against Chelsea (Football. London). Yves Bissouma is also unavailable after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season against Wolves.
For Villa though, Jacob Ramsey and Alex Moreno could be in contention to return to the starting line up against Tottenham (Birmingham Mail). Emi Buendia (AVFC.co.uk) and Tyrone Mings (Guardian) have been missing out for a long time.
Speaking on That’s Football, Ben Forster has claimed that Aston Villa’s lack of dominance away from home and Spurs’ injuries mean that this game has a draw written all over it.
“It’s got a draw written all over it. Villa not as good as what they are at home, Spurs obviously those injuries are massive. I think the Spurs home crowd will (help)… a draw, yeah.”
There is no doubt Ange Postecoglou will want to get back to winning ways but Unai Emery’s side are never an easy nut to crack. Considering the time our manager had to prepare for this game, we can trust him to have come up with a solution.
The injuries we suffered are really hampering us. Missing key players like Romero and Bissouma doesn’t help the cause either. Despite all these caveats, let’s hope we can get the three points this weekend.
