Alan Brazil has said that Aston Villa will not emerge with all three points from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium despite the spate of injuries that Spurs have at the minute.
Tottenham did receive some good news on Thursday, with Destiny Udogie confirming to The Athletic that he will ‘definitely’ play against Villa.
However, Ange Postecoglou will be without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic.
The Australian will be keeping his fingers crossed that all of his international stars return unscathed to Hotspur Way ahead of what is a proverbial six-pointer on Sunday.
Unai Emery’s men will leapfrog Tottenham into the top four if they take all three points at North London, and they will take some confidence from the Lilywhites’ struggles against Wolves two weeks ago without some of their key stars.
Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that his former side has a chance of turning over Spurs due to their injury list but Brazil cited Villa’s away form as a reason why they are not going to take more than a point.
Here is the transcript of the pair’s conversation on talkSPORT:
Brazil: “I don’t think you’ll beat Spurs. Because Tottenham at home… We’ll have another bet, you won’t beat Spurs.
Agbonlahor: “So with Spurs’ injuries and their suspensions, you still think the way Villa are playing…”
Brazil: “A score draw I think.”
Agbonlahor: “Villa are only one point behind Spurs, scored more goals than them.”
Brazil: “I don’t care. Away from home, you’re average.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I am certainly not as confident as Brazil that Villa would not win. I would take a point if you offered it to now as I fear we will be exposed defensively without Romero and Van de Ven.
Having said that, there is no way Postecoglou would accept a point if you offered it to him now and we know that he will want the side to go all out to get three points.
