A mum shared a simple way of turning toilet rolls into decorations[/caption] All you need is glue scissors and toilet roll[/caption]In one video, the money saving pro shared a step-by-step guide to turning loo rolls into star shaped baubles.
First, the frugal mum cut the toilet rolls down the middle.
She then used a ruler to cut a perfect square shape out of the card.
Next, the expert budgeter folded the square diagonally to create two triangles.
Using a pencil and ruler, she then drew diagonal lines across the triangle and cut along them, almost to the edge of the cardboard.
Unfolding the toilet roll, the mum then folded the cut out pieces into each other and glued them together to create one point of the star.
She then repeated this trick with four more toilet rolls and tied them together to make a star, which she fixed some string too and tied to her tree.
Many TikTok users were impressed with the mum’s budgeting hack.
One user said: “Love this! I’ve just spent the last few evenings making wooly hats with toilet roll”.
Another added: “I never thought that you could do that with toilet paper!”
However some users shared their concerns about using toilet rolls for crafts.
One user said: “Please consider using paper towel rolls. Toilet paper rolls have so much germs.”
Another user suggested using cereal boxes as an alternative to loo rolls.
In another creative video, @budgetingmumofficial showed viewers how to make an adorable Christmas tree decoration using just a string of lights.
She fixed them to the wall with pins in a zigzag shape to make the outline of a tree and then turned them on and watched them sparkle.
In a third video, the mum on a budget shared how she made a ‘North Pole breakfast’ for just a fiver.
The breakfast included a tree made out of grapes and a star shaped pancake, and a candy cane made out of chopped up pieces of strawberry and banana.
