Another drizzly morning with little waves
Hello Friends,
More Irish weather for Sydney but if you were extra keen, there were little waves to be had out of the 11-17 kts from the NNE wind. Out at sea the east wind swell was 1.4 metres at just 5 seconds apart, which translates into weak knee to thigh-high bumps by the time it reaches the shore.
From the look of the latest forecasts, this pattern which has already been going since Tuesday, will likely continue for at least another three days. The GFS model shows a possible small improvement to swell heights around midweek. If the forecast is right, the energy will be coming from the east, but there’s a question mark over the wind (it looks like being NE) and the weather could be rainy too.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system currently lies over the Tasman Sea while a broad trough of low pressure extends over much of inland New South Wales. Over the weekend, a low pressure system over Victoria is forecast to move into the southern Tasman Sea, causing a trough to cross parts of the New South Wales coast on Sunday and Monday.

- North to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore during the morning. Winds tending north to northeasterly in the early afternoon.

- 1 to 2 metres, decreasing to 1 metre during the morning.

- Southerly below 1 metre.

- Mostly sunny. The chance of a thunderstorm.

- West to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending southeast to southwesterly during the morning then tending east to southeasterly during the evening.

- Southerly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
