Hello and welcome to the Stockopedia coverage of the Autumn Statement 2023. The day that Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will stand outside number 11 Downing Street posing with his red briefcase, before heading to the Commons to tell the nation his plans for financial salvation in the UK.
The statement is due to start at 12.30, but Paul, Graham and I will be popping up here throughout the morning with our thoughts about the goings on. Do get in touch with any statement-related questions and we’ll do our best to answer them.

ISA reform
There has been much talk of late about the need to provide British capital markets with some stimulus and one of the suggestions has been a change to the ISA tax wrapper. This could come in the form of a simplification of the ISA structure to allow for cash and shares to be held in the same account. Or it could be the introduction of a Great British ISA which provides tax benefits only to UK stocks. You can read more...
