The midfielder made 20 appearances this season and scored his only goal of the campaign when he headed the winner against Sligo Rovers at The Showgrounds back in May.
Across his three spells at Oriel Park, the 33-year-old made 128 appearances for Dundalk, scoring 14 goals.
In a post on X, Wardy wrote: “Three stints, five seasons, ups and downs but loved every minute of it. Will miss the place.”
Wardy was a hugely popular individual at Oriel Park, both as a person and as a player, and everyone at the club would like to wish him the very best of luck in the future.
