I tested these Under Armour shorts that are ‘easy to run in’ and scanning for £11 off for Black Friday
RUNNING in winter has a charm all of its own and trail running even more so – there’s no heat to contend with, there are fewer people around and the allure of coming home to a warm house and a hot chocolate spurs you on through the worst weather – or maybe that’s just me.
These Under Armour Men’s Launch Run Shorts are perfect for putting on over your running tights for an extra layer of insulation – they’re suitable for women as well as men and our reviewer was certainly impressed by them when she put them through their paces last summer for our round-up of the best trail running shorts.

They feature a drawstring and an elasticated waist so you can adjust the fit for comfort and the length is good – they’re not short shorts. They’re made from polyester and the four-way stretch of the fabric allows for maximum range of movement. They also incorporate anti-odour technology to help prevent sweaty smells.

Importantly, they have pockets – one at each side – and the pocket on the right has a further mesh pocket within it to hold your phone securely in place while you run. Reflective detailing helps you be seen when running in low-light conditions as well.
There are also mesh side panels and a mesh lining for breathability and ventilation. ‘The material is great at sweat-wicking and is quick-drying, which was great when running during a rain shower as the shorts were dry again in no time,’ said our reviewer.

She tested the blue colourway, but the black shorts are currently cheaper at £24.84 for all sizes – S, M, L, XL and XXL – which is 31% off the regular price.

In conclusion, our tester found the Under Armour Launch Run 7” Shorts were: ‘easy to run in and sat very well on the waist and allowed for a comfortable running motion’.
She added: ‘The extra length on these shorts makes them extra-flattering and they can double up as lifestyle shorts around runs.’
