TuttoMercatoWeb say that AC Milan are prepared to wait until next summer to sign rumoured Tottenham target, Lloyd Kelly.
It has been well documented that Spurs are prioritising signing a central defender in January and Kelly is reported to be one of the names at the top of the Lilywhites’ wishlist (GiveMeSport).
The North London club are thought to be facing competition from the likes of Juventus (Fabrizio Romano), AC Milan (Calciomercato.it) and Liverpool (Football Insider) for the centre-back.
The 25-year-old’s current deal at the Vitality Stadium runs out next summer (Transfermarkt) but there have been some suggestions recently that the Cherries would rather hold on to him and risk losing him on a free transfer since he is central to their hopes of staying in the top flight (talkSPORT).
TMW have now offered an update on Milan’s pursuit of Kelly, stating that the Serie A club’s interest in the Bournemouth star is ‘very real’.
However, it is alleged that the Rossoneri are aware that the defender does not plan to renew his contract at the Getch Community Stadium and are thus prepared to wait until next summer to sign him on a free transfer.
Finally, the publication adds that Kelly is not the only centre-back on Milan’s radar, with Stefano Pioli’s men said to be also looking at alternatives, including FC Basel’s Finn van Breemen.
Spurs Web Opinion
While Bournemouth might prefer to hang on to Kelly until next summer, one would think that an offer of around £20m for a player with six months left on his contract would be too good for them to turn down.
However, it remains to be seen whether Spurs or any other side would be willing to make such an offer in January.
