A 14-bed intensive care unit has opened at the Civil Hospital in Gurgaon, India. The unit includes a six-bed intensive care ward and an eight-bed high dependency unit. The facility is equipped with necessary medical equipment and will be staffed by five anaesthetists, one pulmonologist, and two physicians. The aim of the new ICU is to reduce the need for critical patients to be referred to hospitals in Delhi or Rohtak for treatment. The hospital is also working to strengthen other critical care services and facilities in order to improve healthcare infrastructure in the city.
