Travis Kelce is a superstar tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Travis grew up as a quintessential younger sibling, desperately trying to "catch up" to his big brother.
"He was always just second, just searching to be the best, and never quite getting there," their mom, Donna, told The Wall Street Journal.
Both boys thrived on the field, court, and anywhere else competition could be found, but Travis found himself in a bit more trouble than Jason. In college — both Kelce boys played football for the Cincinnati Bearcats — Travis lost his spot on the team and his scholarship after he was caught smoking pot as a redshirt sophomore, per WSJ.
But big brother came to the rescue. Jason convinced their coaches to give Travis a second chance, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer, and it paid off; the younger Kelce went on to explode offensively in a more permanent role as a tight end.
The Kansas City Chiefs picked Travis with the 63rd overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, and he's been with the franchise ever since. He's gone on to appear in eight Pro Bowls and break many team and league records for tight ends, and he recently became the Chiefs' all-time leader in receiving yards.
Travis has won two Super Bowls in Kansas City — Super Bowl LIV in 2020 and Super Bowl LVII, against Jason's Eagles, in 2023. Like his big brother, Travis is all but certain to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame after his career comes to a close.
