At the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), he announced the debut of the Best Web Series OTT Award, recognizing original content creators' impact on employment and innovation. Thakur highlighted the industry's growth amidst the pandemic, unveiling plans to expand Film Bazaar, introduce a VFX and tech pavilion, support non-fiction storytelling, present restored classic films, and digitally restore 5,000 films under the National Film Heritage Mission.
