I had such a mortifying salon experience that I never got a wax again, I felt like Winnie the Pooh and not in a good way
GETTING a below-the-belt wax can often be a little awkward, but one woman’s appointment was much more uncomfortable than she expected.
She joked that she felt like Winnie the Pooh during the “mortifying” interaction with her waxing specialist.
In her video, Jessica Hope (@jessi_hope_99) recounted the story for her followers.
The TikToker explained that after she had booked herself a bikini waxing appointment and decided to get her eyebrows done too.
After checking in with the receptionist she took a seat in the salon’s waiting area.
“My lady comes out to greet me and she goes ‘Hi, what are we doing today?’ and I say ‘The usual, a Hollywood wax and my eyebrows please too,'” Jessica told her viewers.
She said the esthetician took her to the back room and asked her which treatment she would like to have done first.
“I think about it and I say ‘Let’s get the worst one out of the way first’ and she goes ‘Yeah, good idea, I’ll leave you to get ready,'” Jessica said.
She explained that other salons often provide a small towel or paper underwear for modesty during bikini waxing treatments.
However, Jessica didn’t see either option in her room but was unfazed by this.
“I don’t particularly mind because what’s the point, she’s going to be all up in there anyway in a second,” she pointed out.
“I get into the room and I close the door and I strip from the waist down and I lie back on the bed,” Jessica continued.
She joked that she resembled Winnie the Pooh as she lay there with only her shirt on.
“[The esthetician] knocks and she comes back into the room and she looks me down and she looks me up and then she does my eyebrows,” Jessica said.
She explained that the woman completed her eyebrow treatment while she lay there half-naked.
“My most mortifying bikini wax experience,” Jessica wrote in the clip’s caption.
“I’ve got an IPL [hair remover] device and I’m a Brazilian girly now instead,” she added.
Her followers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the incident.
“In what world did she think that brows were MORE painful than a Hollywood wax?” asked one confused viewer.
“That is mortifying but she definitely set you up, OMG,” wrote another TikTok user.
“OMG, I’m creased, how awkward, my anxiety could never,” said a third person.
