I’m an American living in the UK, a missing feature in bathrooms stuns me, I don’t understand how I’m meant to get ready
AN American woman has decided to pack up and move across the pond to the UK.
She and her family were in for a rude awakening when realizing that the bathrooms in her new digs weren’t quite like home.
Jessica Wilkinson (@ourmicroadventures) filmed her place in a video on TikTok.
“Weird things we Learned in England this week — we’re the Wilkinsons and we just moved from Utah to England,” she said.
“Here’s a few things we’ve learned the first month.
“Whatever you do, do not try to register your kids for school through the school. You have to go through the city. Be prepared to wait a long time for placement,” she added.
She also shared that her home is a bit different than what she’s used to in the States.
“There are no mirrors or outlets in our bathroom, so I can’t plug in a blow dryer or a straightener,” she said. “Cue extension cords.”
She also recommended paying special attention while driving, not just due to driving on a different side of the road than the States.
“England has very narrow roads to get between the villages. Be prepared to pay attention to oncoming traffic,” she revealed.
The mother added more confusion about the outlet issue in the lavatories.
“The bathroom situation will take getting used to,” she wrote in the caption. “No outlets and no mirror — how do people get ready?”
The video drew in many viewers who shared their thoughts in the comment section.
“It’s unsafe to have electrical products in the bathroom,” one wrote.
“Please don’t get an extension for the bathroom,” another added. “We have a much higher voltage of electricity here, just dry your hair in your bedroom mirror.”
“The outlet thing blew me away lol,” a third commented.
