Eric Dier remains a target for Jose Mourinho at AS Roma, and the Italian outfit could bag the Tottenham Hotspur man for between €4m-€5m (£3.5m-£4.3m) in the January transfer window.
Now heading into his tenth year with Tottenham, Eric Dier may well be approaching the end of his time in North London.
Despite being a regular starter under Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, and Antonio Conte, the 29-year-old has fallen out of favour since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.
The England international was left out of the first four matchday squads this season, and didn’t make it onto the field until the game against Chelsea last week.
Dier’s current contract comes to an end in the summer of 2024, which leaves his future up in the air. Whether he leaves in January, or remains with Tottenham until the end of the season is unclear, but it seems he may well be on his way at some point in the near future.
According to Romagiallorossa, Dier is at the top of Roma’s list for the upcoming transfer window as Mourinho looks for defensive reinforcements. Apparently, the Portuguese coach has “specifically requested” the transfer of Dier.
The Italian outfit wanted Dier in the summer, but a deal stalled due to Tottenham’s “high demands” at the time.
Now, it is thought an offer at a “maximum of €4-5m” would be enough to secure a deal for Dier in January. With his contract coming to an end, it is believed this would still be a “decent capital gain” for Spurs.

I can definitely see this deal happening. Dier has spoken of his desire to move abroad, he needs to play first-team football, and would probably like to reunite with Mourinho. The only issue now is waiting on Spurs to sign a replacement, which hopefully we will do ASAP.
