HE is bracing himself for a challenging stint in the I’m A Celebrity jungle but for Marvin Humes being away from home might be the hardest part of all.
The JLS singer has been married to The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes for more than a decade after their glitzy Blenheim Palace wedding.
The merging of Britian’s leading boyband and girl group at the time has cemented the pair as a showbiz power couple but things for the pair actually got off to a rocky stars as they were forced to date in secret.
Rochelle revealed that she and Marvin had met each other as youngsters but nothing romantic between them ever occurred.
It wasn’t until their respective bands were booked to headline the same event in Ireland in 2010 that they reconnected.
Recalling the infamous moment, mum-of-three Rochelle said: “We met actually when I was younger, when I was probably about 16. Nothing [romantic].
“Fast forward a few years on, he was in JLS, I was in The Saturdays. We were at a club, and they had put all the bands together.”
She then admitted the rather uncouth way that Marvin managed to land her number.
This Morning star Rochelle said: “I went to the toilet and my bag was on the chair.
“He took my phone out of my bag, called himself from my phone and got my number.
“It was weird. In a creepy, restraining order way.”
The pair’s romance did not get off to the best start as Rochelle reveals her Saturdays management had forbidden the girls to date a boyband star.
She said: “I remember having this meeting with our A&R manager, and I remember him saying to us, ‘it’s going really well, it’s quite hard for girl bands because girls have to like you and not feel intimidated…
“The only thing you can do to mess this up is date someone from a boy band. If any of you date JLS then you’re screwed.”
Although their romance was eventually rumbled by fans they suddenly called it quits in November 2010.
Marvin revealed the break-up in a Tweet as Rochelle added in her own statement that it felt “odd” to confirm the romance was over.
Within two months they were back more loved-up than ever before with Marvin quickly going on to get down on one knee to propose to the All Fired Up singer.
He treated his then bride-to-be to a dazzling £45,000 engagement ring while holidaying in Antigua.
Their A-list wedding was the talk of the music industry in July 2012 with Rochelle’s bandmates – Una Healy, Vanessa White, Mollie King and Frankie Bridge – all playing bridesmaid at the glitzy ceremony.
They even hired some famous faces to serenade the crowd at the fancy do.
Olly Murs and Alexandra Burke both gave performances at the ceremony alongside a gospel choir.
Rochelle dazzled in a Vera Wang gown with the rest of The Saturdays opting for a matching outfit in navy.
Wedded bliss was short-lived as Rochelle packed up and left the pair’s marital home just a week after the ceremony as she moved to Los Angeles with the band.
The group had landed a huge US reality series with the TV network behind Keeping Up with the Kardashians called Chasing the Saturdays.
It forced the pair to enjoy Skype sessions with one another as Marvin even admitted to being naked in an infamous scene as things got spicy between the pair as the cameras were still rolling.
Rochelle eventually moved back to the UK and quickly fell pregnant with the pair’s first daughter, Alaia-Mai.
Their second child, Valentina Raine, soon followed as well as their son, Blake Hampton, in 2020.
These days, the pair have formed a formidable TV presenting partnership and front popular BBC Saturday night show, The Hit List.
They are even in the running to take over as the new permanent hosts of This Morning with Rochelle already appearing on the show as a stand-in.
Last year, the couple jetted off to Lake Como to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary and renewed their vows.
Rochelle opted for another stunning white wedding dress as the couple’s three children watched on.
