A CHRISTMAS super fan has started a new petition, demanding people to go all out with their festive decorations and embrace the tackiness.
Over the years, the interior industry has become dominated by one trend in particular – the minimal approach, often with bland shades of beige, white and grey.
But one person you will never catch decorating her home that way, especially around the festive season, is TikTok user Lyndsey Chachki – for her, there’s no such thing as going overboard with tinsels and baubles in different colours.
in fact, the rising social media star was so fed up of the boring aesthetic, she even attempted to launch a petition online, one that might’ve been insired by Donald Trump‘s Make America Great Agains slogan.
”Make Christmas tacky again – who is with me?” Lyndsey urged in her video.
”I want the train around the Christmas tree, I want the tinsel, I want the colourful lights, I want the handmade ornament.”
She went on to explain: ”I need to feel something – and that feeling is cosy nostalgia.”
Although Lyndsey vowed to not buy any more decorations this year, as all of her ornaments were ”tacky” already, she bravely confessed she may not be able to keep the promise.
If, whilst shopping, the Christmas super fan spotted a plastic tree ornament with mini lights and a star on top, she was sure to snap it up without any hesitation – or regret.
Although others may be wrapping their gifts in carefully chosen paper, mostly white or silver, Lyndsey said that this year she will go for the totally mismatched look.
”I wanna feel something and beige isn’t cutting it.
”If you are sad beige Christmas, aesthetically-pleasing – that’s fine, it’s beautiful, honestly.

”But I’m gonna need this. Make Christmas tacky again.
”90s-colourful-cozy nostalgia-maximalist is the vibe we’re going for.”
Luckily for Lyndsey, it seems that the petition might succeed, as there were plenty of other tinsel-heavy fans who raced to support the slogan.
”I have always gone the tacky Christmas route. My wife loves it- she grew up with sad beige Christmas,” wrote on social media user.
Someone else warned fellow super fans about the situation in stores, writing: ”it’s so hard to find tacky, colourful things this year! It’s all just black and white.”
”I have never and will never be sad beige Christmas. Warm, red, green, handmade and my giant vintage ceramic tree,” a third chimed in.
”I want my home to look like Santa puked on it,” another proudly said.
”The no color is pretty but has no magic. I need the magic and memories,” a TikTok user added.
