A CAT owner has shared the product she swears by for keeping her furry friends away from her Christmas tree.
She explained that she spent years searching for a way to protect her ornaments from her pets.
In her video, Jess Maple (@jessmapes) showed her followers “the life hack that wins Christmas.”
“I’ve been looking for a way to keep my cats away from my Christmas tree for the last 12 years,” the TikToker told viewers.
After seeing a viral hack on TikTok, Jess decided to try it out for herself.
“Someone said these Scentsicles will keep your cats away from pretty much anything,” she said.
Jess purchased the $8 scented Christmas ornament air freshener from Amazon.
“I’ve used these for years just because they smell amazing,” she explained.
“I never considered them to be a cat deterrent but it works, they are so repulsed by them,” Jess said.
She held the item up to both her cats’ noses and filmed them as they darted away.
One of Jess’ pets even hid under the couch to get away from the festive scent.
“They will not sit under the tree, this is the closest that they’ll get,” she said, showing her cats sitting on a stool next to the tree.
” Scentisicles are my favorite and smell so good, my cats don’t agree though which makes this the best Christmas hack ever,” Jess concluded.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the hack.
“I have these, one goes a long way, I have one on a wreath for two years! Still smells, super faint but that’s pretty good,” wrote one viewer.
“My cats do not care about these scents, one still uses my tree as a second scratcher,” said another follower.
“Gosh, now they need to come out with something for toddlers, I would be sold,” joked a third person.
