Football Insider have revealed that Bayern Munich could make a shock move for Tottenham centre-back Eric Dier in January.
Dier is into the final year of his contract at Tottenham and it has been widely reported over the last few weeks that he is on the shop window ahead of January.
This includes a recent update by The Daily Mirror which revealed that Daniel Levy plans to command a fee for the 29-year-old, who is on the wishlist of both Sporting Lisbon and AS Roma.
The outlet added that the centre-back prefers to run his contract down and leave as a free agent next summer so that he has more options to choose from.
If Football Insider’s latest update is to be believed, Bayern are now also exploring a move for Dier in January.
The report reveals that Thomas Tuchel wants reinforcements in defensive midfield and centre-back, and that Dier is an option that appeals to the German owing to his ability to play in both positions.
The publication adds that the Bundesliga giants believe that the England international can be signed for a ‘cheap fee’ due to his contract situation.

I am not sure that Dier would be keen on a move to Bayern as he would be aware that he would be fourth choice centre-back in Bavaria behind Kim Min-Jae, Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt.
The Tottenham man will likely want to move to a club where he is a regular starter as he is still in his peak years as a footballer.
