Donald Trump on Saturday once again lashed out against special counsel Jack Smith, issuing comments that would likely be barred under a now-paused gag order.
Trump attacked Smith in connection with the indictment the prosecutor brought against the former president for purportedly attempting to subvert the 2020 election after his own electoral defeat. Trump noted that he's seeking a new judge in that case, as well as a move outside of Washington, D.C.
"We have deranged Jack Smith. Have you ever heard of him? He's a lovely man," Trump mused, calling Smith "the deranged one" and "crooked."
"He's a lovely man. He's the Trump-hating prosecutor in the case. His wife and family despise me much more than he does, and I think he's about a 10. They're a 15 on a scale of 10. He was involved with the failed and very messy Lois Lerner IRS scandal," Trump said.
Trump added, "They brought him back from the Hague and said go get Trump."
"He's a disgrace to America," Trump claimed, saying Smith's goal is "intimidation."
