"The Triple Moon Tour" featuring Alanis Morissette, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Morgan Wade will be at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford on July 6, 2024.
“Ironic” meets “I Hate Myself for Loving You” when two icons of the riot grrl movement, Joan Jett (with her band The Blackhearts) and Alanis Morissette, join forces for a U.S. tour next year with a Hartford date scheduled for July 6, 2024, at the Xfinity Theatre.
Also on the bill is country singer Morgan Wade, whose emotionally powerful songs should fit in very well with the outspoken feelings in Jett’s and Morissette’s work.
Morissette announced the 31 North American shows for the “The Triple Moon Tour” on Thursday, perhaps named in reference to that one-two-three punch of strong female voices,
“I am inspired and heartened and feel giddy inside to be going on this upcoming summer tour with Joan and Morgan and all our teams,” Morissette said on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on Thursday. “Can’t wait to see you, can’t wait to perform!”
In recent years, Joan Jett has performed in Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casino resorts as well as at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Morissette was at Bridgeport’s Sound on Sound Festival just last month. She last played the Xfinity Theater in August 2021, on a tour marking the 25th anniversary of her landmark “Jagged Little Pill” album. “Jagged Little Pill” was also turned into a Broadway musical in 2019. A national tour of the show played at The Bushnell in Hartford this past May.
The July 6 show will apparently be Wade’s first concert in Connecticut.
Presale ticket deals begin Nov. 14 for those with Citi credit cards (a sponsor of the tour). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. Details are at concerts.livenation.com.
