Kim Kardashian has long been at the forefront of her family’s empire, and as the main character of the show — literally and metaphorically — she’s used to the world falling at her feet and fawning over her Instagram posts. There’s one person, however, who isn’t afraid to tell the SKIMS founder how it is, and it just so happens to be her eldest daughter North West.
Proving the universe sent North to Kim to keep the reality star’s ego in check, the 10-year-old nonchalantly dropped a savage comment about the state of her mom’s skin texture on Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians. While Kim was getting glammed by her hair and makeup team, North wandered into the room looking for lip gloss.
Known for her quirky chaotic energy, the pre-teen rattled off, “Did you just step out of the ’90s? How old are you? Oh my God, you look like a teenager.” She casually added, “You need a pimple patch, Mom.” We can’t help but giggle — North stays humbling her world-famous mother like it’s her day job.
Kim responded, “I need a pimple patch? Uh, rude!” Looking into the camera, she said, “I’ve been used to this kind of honesty my whole life. Sometimes, I just want people to lie to me and be nice.”
During the previous episode of The Kardashians, Kim was talking about her work in criminal justice while North was in the room, and the 10-year-old cut the aspiring lawyer down to size again. Kim said, “Anytime I can talk to her about what I do and why I do it, it’s really important to me.” A producer asked North what she thought about “the work her mom does,” and the pre-teen blankly responded, “What does she do?” — while chomping on a raw onion like an apple, no less.
In the same episode, Kim shared, “Kourtney always says North is my lesson on this planet. It means I’m supposed to learn more patience. She teaches me patience. She has taught me a lot about life.” Someone has to keep the billionaire’s feet on the ground!
