A notorious George Soros-backed public prosecutor, Marilyn Mosby, has been convicted of perjury.
Mosby, who famously led the prosecution of police officers in Baltimore after Freddie Gray died while being arrested, had been indicted last year by a grand jury after federal prosecutors accused her of lying on loan applications to take money from her retirement account for the purchase of a luxury home in Florida, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
She was removed from office by voters in 2022, when she was last in the primary election for state's attorney.
The winner then was Ivan Bates, who promised to reverse her policy of not prosecuting certain crimes.
She occupied headlines for weeks and weeks in 2015 when she brought prosecutions against six police officers for Gray's death, but failed to secure any convictions.
Also, during 2021, she demanded the Federal Communications Commission review the broadcast license of WBFF TV, a local Fox affiliate owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, "after the outlet ran stories critical of her, including an article about her purchase of the vacation homes," the report said.
She faces up to five years behind bars on each count.
The Gateway Pundit explained, "Mosby was a corrupt Soros prosecutor who previously charged the wrong people, wrong names, wrong birth dates, and wrong addresses of two officers in the Freddie Gray case."
Prosecutor Erek Barron said after the verdict: "We respect the jury’s verdict and remain steadfastly committed to our mission to uphold the rule of law, keep our country safe, protect the civil rights of all Americans, and safeguard public property."
She was alleged to have lied about suffering business losses because of COVID-19 to get penalty-free withdrawals from her retirement account.
"We should not allow Ms. Mosby to lie under oath because of her position," Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Zelinsky told jurors in his closing argument.
