Injuries & suspensions update ahead of Gameweek 12: Bukayo Saka + three Arsenal fitness doubts, James Maddison blow

Mikel Arteta is hopeful but not certain that Bukayo Saka (£6.3m), Martin Odegaard (£4.9m), Eddie Nketiah (£2.7m), Takehiro Tomiyasu (£2.3m) and Gabriel Jesus (£5.2m) will be fit and available for selection against Burnley this weekend.

“We have a few still in contention,” he said. “We need to give them another 24 hours to give them a chance to be involved in the game, but we won’t know anything until tomorrow.”

Burnley’s top scorer Lyle Foster (£1.8m) misses out after the recurrence of a mental health issue.

Tottenham have a swathe of absentees with Cristian Romero (£3.7m) and Destiny Udogie (£2.9m) both suspended after their dismissals against Chelsea on Monday.

Micky van der Ven (£3m) is out with a hamstring injury until January, and it’s a similar story for attacking duo James Maddison (£4.4m) and Richarlison (£2.6m).

Wolves winger Pedro Neto (£3.2m) remains sidelined with a hamstring issue.

Roy Hodgson hopes to have Michael Olise (£3m) and Eberechi Eze (£3.6m) fit for Saturday’s visit of Everton, who have doubts over the availability of Amadou Onana (£2.7m), Jarrad Branthwaite (£1.8m) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (£3m).

Erik ten Hag has most of his squad available, although Jonny Evans’ (£2.3m) muscle injury means he’s sidelined along with Luke Shaw (£4.9m) and Tyrell Malacia (£3m).

Armando Broja (£2m) is back for Chelsea, but Sunday will come too soon for nearly-fit duo Christopher Nkunku (£4m) and Romeo Lavia (£2.5m), along with Trevoh Chalobah (£2.5m), Carney Chukwuemeka (£1.6m), Ben Chilwell (£3.8m) and Wesley Fofana (£3m).

Brighton’s injury list grew against Ajax on Thursday. Pervis Estupinan (£3.2m), Lewis Dunk (£2.5m) and James Milner (£1.9m) all picked up injuries and will miss the contest with Sheffield United.

Julio Enciso (£2.2m), Tariq Lamptey (£2.1m), Solly March (£3.6m) and Danny Welbeck (£2.2m) remain out. It’s better news for the Blades, who are likely to have Anel Ahmedhodzic (£1.3m) and Oli McBurnie (£2.1m) back.

Lucas Paqueta (£3.7m) and Edson Alvarez (£2.2m) are available after serving suspensions last weekend. There’s no word of any fresh injuries from West Ham’s Europa League win over Olympiacos, and it’s unclear whether Kurt Zouma (£2.1m) will be fit for Sunday’s game.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister (£3.2m) is unavailable after collecting his fifth booking of the campaign last weekend, but otherwise Jurgen Klopp has no fresh doubts.
