Arbroath FC Walking Football Club who are part of Arbroath FC Community Trust, have been very successful over the past two years.
They formed in 2016 with just a few members and this has blossomed into a fully functioning, self funding club. They currently play at RM Condor on Wednesday evenings.
As well as a recreational Walking Football session on a Thursday at the PKS Arena, there is also a separate session on a Sunday in Carnoustie.
Two of our squad (Dave Waddell and Gordon Smith) trialled and were chosen for the Scottish Exiles in Coventry in 2021 and were successful in winning the Samantha Birtles trophy.
Samantha was the late wife of ex Nottingham Forest and Manchester United’s Gary Birtles. Gary presented the trophy to the successful Exiles squad.
They take part in the Eastern League at Dundee RPC. Last season they were runners up in the league which allowed them entry into the Champions League at Ravenscraig which they won to become Scottish Champions for 2022!
For 2023, they again did very well winning the league by 4 points from Oriam (Edinburgh) after losing only two games all season, again allowing them to defend our title at the end of November and they are hopeful they can be successful again this year.
They can be contacted at
www.arbroath-walking-football.co.uk or

should anyone feel like taking part at any point.
