Man Utd fans spot Ten Hag’s tactical tweak working immediately as Hojlund fires Red Devils in front but calamity strikes
MANCHESTER UNITED fans spotted a tactical tweak from Erik ten Hag in their crucial clash with Copenhagen.
The change was noticed immediately as Rasmus Hojlund fired the Red Devils into an early lead.
Calamity struck later on the night, though, as Marcus Rashford was sent off by referee Donatas Ramsas.
He was dismissed after a VAR review spotted the winger had caught Elias Jelert in the face with his arm.
Ten Hag made an alteration for the visit to Denmark as he started Rashford on the right wing.
The England star has predominantly been deployed on the left, with a handful of appearances through the middle.
However, his switch to the right on Wednesday paid off within a matter of minutes as Hojlund finished off a flowing move.
Rashford’s cute touch to Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the build-up came before Scott McTominay was played in down the right.
He then drilled a low cross to Hojlund at the back post, with the Dane tapping the ball into the back of the net.
Reacting to the goal on social media, one fan said: “Let’s gooooo! Massive start for us! That’s settled then… Rashford on the right!”

A third supporter also commented: “We’ve got to start Rashford on the right more often.”
Meanwhile, one more wrote: “Right wing Rashford, you are him.”
United’s night would get even better before the half hour mark as Hojlund grabbed his second against his old club.
Ten Hag’s side failed to make it to half-time in front, however, as the capitulated following Rashford’s red card.
The dismissal kickstarted a Copenhagen comeback, with Mohamed Elyounoussi and Diogo Goncalves scoring in quick succession to level the match before the interval.
