The La General Hospital would have to be scale down a bit because the funding for its reconstruction has been withheld by sponsors, Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has announced in parliament. Making a statement on the floor of the house on Tuesday, 7 November 2023, Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said Ghana 39;s tottering economy which necessitated an IMF bailout, is to blame for the withholding of the funds by the sponsors.
