A MOUNTAIN retreat just over two hours away from the UK has been described as both the “ultimate luxury getaway” and “just amazing” by people who have visited.
An outdoor breakfast in bed, brunch with alpacas and a glass bottom swimming pool are among the experiences available to guests in the hotel.
The Hotel Chalet al Foss in Vermiglio, Italy is surrounded by the alps and is described as “the ideal gateway to the mountains”.
Each of the rooms look out onto the face of the Presanella glacier, while some have extra luxuries including private jacuzzis, freestanding baths and suspended swing beds.
One couple who made the most of it were travel enthusiasts Claudia Nieroda and Kaan. who run the Lost Two (@thelosttwo) Instagram page.
They shared footage from their stay with the caption “This is the number one experience hotel in the world”.
They took advantage of all the hotel’s unique offerings, including swimming in the glass bottom pool, having breakfast in the outdoor bed and eating with the resort’s resident alpacas.
They also had a romantic chalet dinner, a romantic dip in the hot tub at sunrise and had other breakfasts in a jacuzzi and on their balcony.
Their footage was shared by account Vacation in Italian, who said: “The Hotel Chalet al Foss, surrounded by a magnificent landscape, is the ideal gateway to the mountains, to an ever-changing, splendid nature.
“From here the view extends unhindered to the steep face of the Presanella glacier.”
Guests also have the option to book helicopter tours, luxury transfers to and from the resort and some outdoor activities.
Additionally, those staying at Hotel Chalet al Foss will have access to H2O Alpin Spa, which has an indoor area with swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area.
Meanwhile, outside, the spa offers an infinity pool, a panoramic Finnish sauna and hot tubs, while live music and DJ sets are performed every afternoon.
The resort has an overall score of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, with plenty of people saying it’s the best place they’ve ever stayed.
One wrote: “This was one of the most breathtaking places I have ever been.
“Absolute luxury, but in reasonable prices. The place, the services, the food, the alpacas, really everything was 10/10.”
Another said: “What an incredible stay! This is the ultimate luxurious couples getaway.
“Every activity was made for romance. And I still can’t get over the views.”
A third added: “This place is absolutely incredible. The views are spectacular and the hotel is just amazing.
“Everything here is so well thought out, right down to the last little details.”
Getting to Vermiglio is fairly simple, with direct flights from the UK the nearest airport Bolzano available with Sky Alps.
