COPS have launched an urgent probe after discovering a body of a man in his 70s floating in a canal.
Officers found the body in Basingstoke Canal, Woking, just after 7am this morning.
Sussex Police confirmed that they did not believe the mystery death to be suspicious.
And the force are now conducting enquiries to establish the cause of death.
“Officers were called to the Basingstoke Canal in Woking this morning shortly after 7am following a report of a body in the river.
“The body of a man in his 70s has since been recovered from the water.
“Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the death, but at this time we do not believe there to be any third-party involvement.
“There were some road closures in place earlier this morning, but these have since been lifted.”
